not much wrong with that.

might have to take a vacation

Vermont = worst state ever. Montpelier doesn't even have a Macdonald's the sign of a true state in Capitalist America. Kinda made me sad.

vermont is great! what are you talkin about!

pros = best snowboarding on the east coast. the 6th great lake. mythical water beast named Champ. awesome hiking and camping. chill people. awesome beers. awesome weed

cons = too many hippies. too remote. long winter.

vermont is great. but i am biased. i spent many summers of my life on lake champlain, and many winters snowboarding my ass off...

Hey Tim could you see if your crew could find any albums by Environmental Youth Crunch besides the split with Defiance? YOu would be my hero. I have been trying to get all the EYC albums I had since my HD died but have been having a hell of a time.

Anything named after a Monk song has to be worth a shot. Thanks for more new ear candy.

killer. thanks for the blues. while trying to find that new deadsure, i came across blues (same label) and liked it enought to give it a shot. nothing new or spectacular, but worth further investigation i think.

i'm not sure why, but i have never been able to give the orchid side of things a chance (and therefore never have given their other bands a chance). same with saetia and their splinters. perhaps i'll stop being a shit head and finaly listen to some of it...haha.

also been getting into the engineer stuff lately. and architect. both good "hardcore" bands i think. no singy/solo bullshit.

i've been laying low the last month trying to focus on work, but maybe i'll get off my butt soon and post up some new stuff.

Hmmm, don't like off minor as much as I do saetia, and nowhere as good as early screamy saetia imo. Still good hardcore though

Cool to know the name comes from a Thelonious Monk song...

Life at these Speeds is so choice! thanks for this split. i was gonna buy it a few weeks ago. but i gotta curb my habit until im back from seattle...

this might throw you guys for a loop, but since you seem to be comic nerds, perhaps you might also be zine nerds. i am currently on a serious hunt for Craphound #s 1-4. The things are quite tough to find. i had them in a previous life and lost them in the "great flood" of 1998, which consisted of rain coming in through the windows of my basement apt and ruining stacks of zines and records. any help would be greatly appreciated on this. i would gladly pay good money for the actual physical zines. but i would also gladly take high resolution scans/pdfs of the pages. is there a resource for this type of thing on the internets superhighways?

1:01 PM
Blogger papstar said...

shit ...good luck brother
they are making them again I hear...but those issues are long long long out of print.

but you can get issues 5 and 6!

i would similarly like to see more HeartattaCk and Anti Matter zines...

Blogger papstar said...

wasn't there some website where theywere creating a zine archive?

I can't remember the addy...I know I have it on my home pc.
I can't remember what they had already

i'm an old zine kid (suprise!)
i think tree of knowledge still has a retarded ammount of new and old zines for sale, and about a year ago i ran into some kids who were starting to put together a zine archive. for the most part though , coming across old zines is like trying to find oil in oklahoma. you know it's there but you're gonna hafta dig...

Blogger proven hollow said...

yeah i knew it would be a shot in the dark, but you never know. craphound was nothing short of amazing. i actually did get the reprints of 5 and 6. i was hoping they would go ahead and reprint 1-4 but it doesnt seem like it. the reprints are already out of print. anyway, boohoo for me. i just need to find some old crusty punk who wants to trade me for a can of dog food or something.

10:29 PM
Blogger sweet baby jaysus said...

crusties would probably trade it out for some mildewed quarters or a blatz tallboy.
