ween - 12 golden country greats
ween - 12 golden country greats
heres my favorite ween record, im a country fan so this one really does it for me. what can i say? its ween, and papstar has said it all already.
oh and heres a wiki explanation for the title of the album....
There are two theories regarding the title of the album. The first claim is that it refers to the dozen veteran musicians, known as The Shit Creek Boys, who played on the album. The second claim refers to the fact that the band did indeed record twelve songs during the demo sessions for the album. When it came time to record the actual album, the band chose not to use two of the songs but also decided not to change the album title. The two removed songs were titled "I Got No Darkside" and "So Long, Jerry." "So Long, Jerry" did wind up as a B-Side on the "Piss Up A Rope" single.

I've always thought this album got overlooked by so many people as a joke. It really is awesome..not a bad song on it. I still cry when I hear Fluffy:P
I am giving Ween a try. They still kind of make me think of them as a weird joke band.
The weird band i am into right now again though is The Crucifucks. Their Wisconsin LP is pretty amazing.
i love the 1st crucifucks record. steve shelley from sonic youth was in the crucifucks.

So does anyone have Token Entry's Jaybird they could upload?
Why are they such an under-rated band? Maybe it's just being in the midwest, but people never seemed to realize what an amazing band they were. minus the last record they put out.
Also still looking for the John Henry West songs. Anyone have them? Anything i find out there doesnt work. I was surprised by the number of videos I found of them on you-tube.
i can get you the token entry, but it'll have to be later tonight, i gotta go to work.
it's amazing how much footage is on youtube period. navio forge played two shows and somehow clips from both are there to view. i love it.
I found some weird ass video of Sam McPheeters on the Montel Williams show. He is one weird kid. One of the times i saw Born Against he spent most of the set in the back of the room shadow boxing and losing. It was funny and annoying.
But yeah, there is some amazing stuff on there.
Hey if you have Navio Forge as well i would love it.
not a problem at all, here you go:

hello beautiful people...
this has to be the hardest thing i have ever requested...
the rites reserved LP...
this is the NC band from the early '90s who toured/played/did splits with the likes of...
assfactor 4, blownapart bastards (while we're at it...something by them would be rockin'), resol (by them, too), Dart360, Griver, Hellbender, etc.
thanks
all i could come up with these two splits, sorry i couldn't help more.
blownapart bastards/resol split 7"

THANK SWEET!
Thanks!!! You totally made my day. Running today will be especially sweet.
Saw those Blowapart Bastards and it reminded me of another southern screamo band, Cornelius. They put out maybe two 7"s. The one with the Boba Fett samples was pretty amazing.
What is with the Carolinas putting out some amazing bands?
nah...Cornelius put out an LP, too...and DAMN is it freakin' awesome
used to live and go to school in NC and yes, the Carolinas had some GREAT GREAT bands.
i'm pretty sure this is their discography:
cornelius - sound of summer

"I own all their albums already! sucka!"
"The Mollusk" is definitely one of my faves...
The Blarney Stone brings a tear to me eye...
ahhh, frogdaddy! alas, it was my cohorts Maize and Papstar that had all the Ween.
It was a serendipitous occasion that brought Ween to Zen right after we had that talk.
Well, to the Frogdad, I'll see ya tomorrow.
To the rest of you, I am back! Seattle was awesome! Hung with Sweet Baby Jaysus in a severe state of sleep dep and jet lag, very cool dude he is.
Got a little rare goodie from him that I will get to posting this week sometime...
for now, i am spent. i have slept 3 hours and yet again my brainwaves are barely functioning.
lata suckas!

shit, did someone mention dart360?! breaking out the old school NC. rights reserved were a lovely bunch of fellas. stayed at my house a number of times while on tour through the south. yet another NC band which rarely gets mentioned is picasso trigger. they were the oddest looking bunch, but were super rocking. also stayed over a number of times. i have fond memories of watching purple rain with them late into the night. we were all in love with the singer.
jaysin, good to see you still around. but i doubt anyone here even knows what an "sxe-l" is...haha. in other words, we are fucking old. life seemed so much easier before the interwebs.
okie..i need help. I've been listening to Still Life since sweet baby jaysus made his post saturday. now I can't find all my albums..anyone have links for some stuff? I have:
incredible sinking
madness and gackle
from angry eyes.
and limitations ep
can't figure out which harddrive I put the rest on..any help would be appreciated.
yeah...i played a few shows in raleigh with dart360...they were the bees knees...
yet, resol (charlie dart360's first band)was just so...so...unfun era jawbreaker mixed with LP heroin...it was a sight to behold.
rights reserved were amazing, too...never saw them, actually...saw eagle bravo ALOT...good...but i am in a need for the right's reserved LP...
anyone...jesus...ill strip and run through prague for some rights reserved...
for the person that wanted some assfactor 4, here are most of their releases...

Hey, there, mate. Sorry to be a bit off, but the Lync-These Are Not fall Colors file is missing the first song, B. Could you upload that track?
go to Metro/Sea (links on right) and ask him if he has it... he was the original poster...
otherwise, paps and jay are talented at finding rarities..
how 'bout some Armstrong Secret Nine? anyone?
that's so weird, i was thinking on the way home how i need to listen to that 7inch!
here's that re-up of lync's these are not fall colors:
http://www.mediafire.com/?4tlfntjmb0e
Thanks, mate.
Could you re-up this or something? The link is dead and I really wanted this ablum!
