Econochrist

Another Victim 7" (1991)

Skewed 7" (1993)

Fast, angry politico punk hardcore from the Bay Area. Great basslines, snarling vocals, and an all around crusty feel make Econochrist stand out in a crowd. There was certainly no shortage of angry politcal punk and hardcore. Still isn't. Though intelligent lyrics still remain a key factor, it all came down to sound in the long run. Econochrist were originators of their scene, fusing Crass rebellion into west coast hardcore songs.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I know I want it! Just discovered this blog...awesome. This is the music I listened to in the '90s. Brings back memories of seeing Econochrist and Rorshach in Boston (or Cambridge, to be specific) in the summer of '92. Man, I'm old...

Keep it up!

Oh, I've just check your post and seen that you were going to post Moss Icon which I've posted yesterday. Sorry, blend :( But I must admit that I haven't as many hidden gems in my vault as you, so this may be the last such accident as well ;)

I cannot wait for Frail, Native Nod and these "few other" bands I've probably never heard before!

thanks so much for posting the discog CD! I plan to order it soon from Ebullition, but need to save up. Not sure if you've heard, but Kent's mailorder minimums are now $100.

Anyone have any Life...But How to Live It? or Submission Hold they can post? That'd be dope...

Ooops! Another blogging accident?! We must be really on the same wavelength last times :)

And, of course, I haven't been able to do it without papstar's great help. Until yesterday I was almost totally unaware of their existence and never ever heard even one of their songs! And when I started listening to them I simply couldn't resisted posting this gem :)

I'm listening to Navio Forge almost non-stop now :)

Glad you asked for Life....? One of the best Norwegian bands ever. Here are the Burn/Green tracks (the ones that were rereleased on Ebullition) + a live track:

I'd love to hear anything from Torches to Rome!!! You know, I'm still living in this cave :)

Hey, soulfire, if you have this on your hard drive and could be so nice to re-up it on mediafire or something more human-friendly then megashitload I'll be very grateful :)

I'm just think about ordering some Submission Hold's records, bostock, but it can take some time for me! But it seems like I'm lucky with no such money limits in my distro here ;) So if I do it I'll post it for sure!

I second that...you rock, Soulfire! By the way, is your screen name a Refuse to Fall reference? Don't they have a 7" by that name?

good selection of 7"s.

definetly throw that frail up. i loved them, had their t-shirt too.

refuse to fall?! holy smokes i still have that record...haha. i remember it is quite orange! they were on that whole krsna tip i recall.

The Refuse To Fall EP and some other goodies are available for download at www.krishnacore.com. The Although I like the 7", it's not influential in my choice of screen name or band name (see myspace.com/soulfirehc if you're interested in checking that out)

I'll try to get the LBHTLI tracks up on mediafire. Latest news is that singer Katja sang five songs (Bad Brains, Blondie and more) on Saturday with cover band 49 Crash (featuring members of Life... and So Much Hate)

Well, I don't actually consider this is likely to have success.
