Minutemen - History Lesson Pt II - Acoustic
This song has always pulled the heartstrings. This video of this song brings a tear to my eye. The Minutemen stood for so much goodness in this world. I wonder if there will ever be another band like them. Irreverent, funny, touching, scathing, surreal and humanitarian.
Enjoy this video. Make sure to see We Jam Econo.. you can Netflix it or buy it and see all the extras it comes with. Fully worth it either way. Use Google to search for it. Read Our Band Could Be Your Life too. Google that also.
Things be mad busy over my way. More posting in the future.

something about that video reminded me that i don't ever want to learn how to play my instrument. i'm not saying there bad, just never listened to 'em.
we jam econo always brings tears to my eyes. that part where mike watt talks about the last day he talked with d.boom is heartbreaking!
i think we'll never see another band like the minutemen. as you said they were irreverent, funny, touching, scathing, surreal, humanitarian, amazingly powerful and, i think, in some way kinda naive.
when people ask me what's the best band of the world/history i always say it's the minutemen.
Minutemen or Fugazi.. its a toss up for me. Avail is pretty high up there too..
yeah man, D. Boon and Mike Watt were old old friends. That would be crushing to lose my oldest and closest friend.
@ brad, i am not sure how you mean.
just how skilled mike watt is as a musician and i just want to destroy music.
first song i learned on guitar.
love this band.
Yep, Blend, I hear you on this one. One of the great romantic songs of all time. Fucking brilliant stuff.
is there a chance for an upload of the 1.6 band - self titled LP?
anonymous characters. leave names or nicknames or 5th grade level caricatures of yourselves. for no other reason than i like to know who i am talking to, even if your name is sweetbabyjaysus. ^_~
1.6 band. im pretty busy right now, but i have it... someone else may be able to help you, but i'll try to get to it in the next few days.. maybe this weekend, though i am going to attempt to not even look at a computer... spend too much time on one every day..
keep checking back.
oh., i have some links to catch up on too... Brad, Ape Mummy, etc... good stuff, writing, music, thoughts...
more to follow...
did i leave an anon comment? i'm confused.
see you've been listening to the shivering quite a bit, for some reason i couldn't get paps link to work for me, so i have to listen to the shivering at home when i put it on the turntable. i wish i could figure out a way to upload the two seven inches i have by them, because while the 10" is pretty fantastic, their 7"s really have me floored. i should post up the calvary record sometime and reintroduce you to matt week's post current project.
if i said just as good as later era current would you believe me?
heres the deal... you trade me cavalry, which i have been dying to hear, and i provide you mp3s of all the Shivering stuff.. i found it on iTunes of all places... i voided the drm bullshit though... and yes, the Shivering rules... hard.
when you supposed to be in NYC again? things are looking hectic.. want to make sure we can cheeeeeel. nah meen?
consider that a deal done sir.
i should be in ny in october, but i'm still not sure when. i need to get a hold of the asobi kids. for that matter i need to get off my lazy ass and turn my phone back on, although i have to say it has been very nice without all the retarded phone calls and one word text messages.
yo!
