Quicksand - Slip (1993)
Nothing much to say here....This is one of the finest albums ever recorded in the history of man. If you aint got it, get it, if you dont like it, you cannot come to my birthday party. Nuff said.
its late. or so it seems to my old bones....
Good Night internets... i have fun things to post over the weekend... oh yes? oh yes!

After this post I'm fairly certain you know your good music... Indeed one of the best ever recorded. Schreifels never reached this high point again. I own & listen to this one since 1993, but thanks for posting nevertheless.
besides fugazi, this is still one of the best albums i own...every year i put it on again, and every year i am reminded of why.
and yes, he never reached these heights again.
i got to see them live, twice in NYC and they were two of the best shows i have ever seen.
This is one of the records I've been chasing for years, and when I finally downloaded it (never have any chance to buy), it occurs to be poor incomlete version :(
Thanks for sharing a good one, and even more thanks for using mediafire this time (megashitload sucks, downloading anything from there is pain in the ass for me).
Their debut EP for Revelation was great, too. Sometimes I wonder what could have happened if they did't move to the majors. It's allways better to be a big fish in a small pond. Too many promising bands were sucked by big labels seeking the next big thing...
But they are still, next to the records of early Fugazi and Drive Like Jehu, on my shelf with best-records-ever. So, when is your birthday party, blend?
;)
excellent album. when that first 7" of their came out on revelation, it literally punched me in the face. at the time i thought it sounded similar to the last verbal assault stuff. to be honest, when slip first came out, i wasn't digging it. it seemed a little more smoothed out and "wimpy" and lacked the punch of the 7". i also though walter sounded like perry farrell on this album...haha. but i was so young and angry back then. of course this album eventually became essential listening. but i still like the crunchyness of the original 7". i used to have a live video of them from before this album came out. it was nuts. before walter started playing guitar live, it wa sjust him singing and running around. they looked like babies! they also did a version of baphomet that had singing. it wasa cool video. i wish i still had it. but yeah, quicksand was great. seen them a bunch, always delivered. even in the "hippy long hair" phase.
clean slate is still one of my favroite songs by them...but i have to agree, i didnt dig this when i bought it. i was listening to Type O Negative at the time...Slow Deep and Hard...haha!! but it grew like moss on me and i never looked back...
when i saw them at Irving Plaza with Orange 9mm and Fountainhead they did the singing version of Baphomet...it was incredible and the guys from the Orange 9 and Fountainhed were in the pit...so freaking awesome...one of the best shows of my life...
i always liked their "how soon is now" cover as well. i've got a cassette around here somewhere of a bunch of unreleased songs and alternate versions and singles b-sides and whatnots. i'll have to try and find it. but from what i remember, the sound quality on it was piss poor...haha. its all gotta be floating around the internets somewhere though i bet.
How was the Mono gig dude???
amazing!
pics and report tonite.. check back
Thanks for reminding me about this great album! I haven't listened to it in years, but it is one of the best of the 90's. I remember seeing them in Montreal (opening for RATM?) and they were soooo tight!
I also saw them play with RATM...I wonder if it was the same tour. 1993 or early 1994, right?
I busted my knee that night when Quicksand was playing.
